The Wyoming Department of Health currently has federal funding that allows us to provide NARCAN® for free to agencies, businesses and organizations in Wyoming, including but not limited to education institutions, governmental agencies, first responders, community organizations, and businesses for free.
This NARCAN® program provides free NARCAN® to agencies, businesses and organizations in Wyoming that may be in position to help individuals experiencing an opioid overdose. Approved orders will be shipped directly to you. With the potency of many fentanyl products, it is suggested to keep two, 2 packs (4 vials in total) in each location or with each individual that will be carrying the product.
Requirements prior to ordering
Wyoming State Statutes §35-4-901 through 906, which became effective on July 1, 2017, expanded access to the opioid overdose antagonist medication Naloxone. This statute and Wyoming State Rules require that an entity prescribed an opiate antagonist is required to establish a drug overdose treatment policy that includes:
1) Designation for individuals to receive training and instructional materials on how to recognize and respond to an opiate related drug overdose. This can be done within the community or we recommend the getnaloxonenow.org or the https://www.redcross.org/
2) Ensure that a person to whom an opiate antagonist has been administered receives additional medical care and a medical evaluation.
3) Submit a complete Naloxone Report Form to the Wyoming Department of Health electronically within 72 hours of the administration of the opiate antagonist at: Naloxone Administration Survey
To Order NARCAN®:
Before ordering, please ensure your agency, business or organization has completed all statutory and rule requirements (listed above) including writing the policy. As of a week ago, NARCAN is now officially over the counter and no longer requires a prescription.
Submit the completed order form (attached to this email) via email to both Truax Patient Services, LLC (bwtruax@truaxpatientservices.
Please note: the order form lists a price however, this is for internal purposes only. The NARCAN® is free to your organization.
